Learn the essentials of how to understand and control light to achieve the perfect illumination for your photos. Gain practical experience by shooting your own images while exploring the properties of light, mastering its control, and achieving the desired effects in your photography.

Working on location with natural light, you will employ various techniques such as:

  • Scouting a Location: Assess the site for the best lighting conditions.
  • Sun Tracking: Observe the sun’s path and predict its position during your shoot.
  • Using Tools: Utilize positive and negative fill to manipulate light effectively.

Introduction of artificial light:
Once we develop an understanding of the properties of light and how to achieve your desired results, we will incorporate the use of both on-camera and off-camera flash to further enhance your skills.

We will be reviewing images on the back of our cameras. You will download your photos when you get home and upload them to a gallery for review.
